What we service

JennAir is Whirlpool’s luxury brand, and it is the company that put the downdraft grill-range into American kitchens. The current line is organized into two design expressions rather than product tiers: RISE, which is stainless with knurled metal handles, and NOIR, which is dark glass and black stainless. Both share the same cavities, controls and refrigeration platforms, so the difference matters to your kitchen designer and almost never to your technician.

We service JennAir single and double wall ovens, wall oven and microwave combinations, steam and speed ovens, pro-style gas and dual-fuel ranges, gas and induction cooktops, downdraft cooktops and downdraft ventilation units, built-in and integrated column refrigeration, undercounter wine and beverage centers, and dishwashers. Legacy Euro-Style and Pro-Style equipment from the 2000s is still in a lot of Jacksonville kitchens and we work on it.

What actually fails

Wall ovens are the highest-volume JennAir call we take. The failure splits cleanly in two. If the display is dark or the touch glass ignores you, we are looking at the user interface board or the ribbon connection behind it. If the display works, the oven accepts a setting, and nothing ever gets hot, we are looking at the relay board that switches the bake and broil elements, or at the element itself. Those are two different parts and two different prices, which is why we meter before we quote rather than replacing the whole control stack.

Downdraft is the other JennAir-specific job. A downdraft cooktop pulls through a blower and a motorized damper, and both are wear items. A damper that only opens halfway gives you a unit that sounds like it is working while smoke sits over the pan. Blowers get noisy first and then draw high before they quit.

On pro-style ranges, continuous sparking after a boil-over is the most common complaint and it is usually a wet, misseated burner cap and electrode rather than a failed spark module. We dry and reseat first. Real module failures exist but they are the minority.

Built-in refrigeration behaves like other built-ins: a loaded condenser, then an evaporator fan motor, then the defrost circuit. If the fresh-food compartment is warm and the freezer is still holding, the usual cause is frost blocking airflow off the evaporator, not a dead compressor. Ice makers fail at the fill valve or the harvest cycle, and small or hollow cubes point at water supply and pressure before they point at the ice maker.

Parts and why they matter

Being part of the Whirlpool family is a practical advantage here. Boards, elements, fan motors and latches are broadly available, and lead times are typically days rather than the weeks you see on imported European equipment. Where JennAir gets fussy is the trim: RISE and NOIR handles, panel-ready door kits and glass are cosmetic parts with long tails and high prices, so we protect them and we do not remove them unless the job needs it.

Control boards are revision-sensitive. We read the full model and serial from the data plate — inside the oven door frame on wall ovens, inside the fresh-food compartment on refrigeration — and order against that, not against a description over the phone. We install genuine OEM parts.

Independent service and your warranty

We are an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by JennAir or Whirlpool, and we do not bill any manufacturer for warranty labor. Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, the federal credential required to open a sealed refrigeration system, so refrigeration jobs do not stop at the parts a generalist is willing to touch.

If your unit is still inside its factory warranty, say so and we will tell you plainly to use the manufacturer’s network for that coverage. Once you are past it, using an independent shop does not void anything — federal warranty law protects that choice. Our diagnostic is $129, flat and credited toward the repair. We cover Jacksonville and St. Johns County within a 40-mile drive of Fruit Cove. Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm.

JennAir: common questions

My data plate says Jenn-Air with a hyphen. Is that the same brand?

Yes. Older units carry the hyphenated Jenn-Air badge and the current brand writes it as one word, JennAir. Nothing about the parts or the service changes. Give us the full model and serial from the plate and we will pull the right components.

Do you repair JennAir downdraft cooktops?

Yes. Downdraft systems are the brand's signature and they have their own failure modes: blower motors, motorized dampers that stick part-open, and the control that runs them. We service the cooktop and the downdraft as one system.

Is JennAir the same as Whirlpool inside?

JennAir is Whirlpool's luxury brand and shares engineering with other Whirlpool platforms in some categories. That is genuinely good news for parts availability and lead times, especially on wall ovens and dishwashers.

Are you a JennAir authorized service center?

No. We are an independent appliance repair company with no affiliation to JennAir or Whirlpool. We repair the brand and install genuine OEM parts, which is a different thing from being part of a manufacturer network.

What does a service call cost?

A flat $129 diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. You get a written estimate before we start, and we tell you when a repair does not make economic sense.

JennAir jobs that came in recently

Rated 4.8 out of 5 across 72 customer reviews. Every one of these was a visit to this make of appliance.

Willa G.Jul 3, 2026

Our speed oven was cooking one side faster than the other. He found the turntable coupler stripped and the convection blade cracked. Both were changed and he ran a test bake before leaving. The results are even now.

Terence O.Jun 22, 2026

The machine would grind but never start the pump. He traced it to a seized brew piston, freed it, fitted a new seal kit and ran three test cycles before leaving. He also pointed out the bean chute needed a proper clean.

Desmond H.Jan 9, 2026

The panel ready door kept swinging shut on its own and the interior light stayed on. He levelled the cabinet, reset the closing cam and adjusted the panel weight. It sits square now and the light goes out as it should.
