What we service

Dacor is an American luxury brand, founded in Pasadena, California and owned by Samsung since 2016. That ownership change is the single most useful fact for anyone servicing the brand, because it splits the fleet in two. Newer Modernist, Professional and Contemporary equipment uses Samsung-derived electronics, connectivity and parts channels. Older Discovery, Renaissance and Epicure equipment is a different animal with a different parts reality.

We service Dacor dual-fuel and gas ranges up to 48 inches, gas and induction cooktops and rangetops, single and double wall ovens including steam-assist models, warming drawers, built-in French-door refrigerators, refrigerator and freezer columns, wine reserves, dishwashers and ventilation hoods.

What actually fails

Wall ovens and range ovens generate most of the call volume. Two symptoms look alike and are not. A dead or unresponsive touch glass is a user interface problem — the display board or the ribbon behind it. An oven that lights up, accepts a setting and never gets hot is a switching problem — the relay board or the element circuit. Replacing the panel because the oven does not heat is a common and expensive mistake, so we meter the element resistance and the switching side before we order anything.

Convection fan motors are the next most common item. They usually get loud before they get dead, and a fan that stalls mid-bake gives you food that browns on one side and stays pale on the other. Self-clean and steam-assist cycles that abort partway through are usually a door lock or latch motor fault, not a control failure — the control is doing exactly what it should when the lock does not confirm.

Illumina knobs are a genuine Dacor signature and a genuine service item. The LED ring and bezel assembly can fail while the burner and valve underneath are perfectly fine, so a knob that no longer lights is a cosmetic and electrical part, not a gas problem.

On sealed gas burners, continuous sparking after a spill is almost always a wet or misseated burner cap and electrode. We dry and reseat before we sell anyone a spark module.

Refrigeration follows the built-in pattern. The condenser loads with dust and the box holds temperature until the first hot week of the year. Evaporator fan motors get noisy and then stall. When the fresh-food compartment climbs and the freezer still reads correctly, the cause is usually frost blocking airflow off the evaporator rather than a dead compressor. Ice makers fail at the fill valve or the harvest cycle; hollow or undersized cubes point at water pressure and filtration first.

Connectivity is worth naming honestly. Wi-Fi modules on Modernist units drop off the network and refuse to re-pair. That is annoying, but it is not a cooking fault, and it is not a reason to replace a control board.

Parts and why they matter

Dacor parts availability is good on current products and mixed on legacy ones. Epicure and Renaissance equipment from before the Samsung era can require real hunting, and we will tell you that up front rather than starting a job we cannot finish. Control boards are revision-specific — the correct board is determined by the full model and serial on the data plate, not by a photograph. We read the tag, order against it, and install genuine OEM parts. Aftermarket boards and generic gaskets on panel-ready doors cause exactly the condensation and calibration problems you called us to fix.

Independent service and your warranty

We are an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Dacor or Samsung, and we do not bill any manufacturer for warranty labor. Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, the federal requirement for opening a sealed refrigeration system, which is why we can do compressor and evaporator work in the home instead of condemning a column refrigerator.

If your Dacor is still inside its factory warranty, tell us and we will point you at the manufacturer’s own network for that coverage. Once you are outside it, using an independent shop does not void your warranty — federal warranty law protects that choice. Diagnostic is $129, credited toward the repair when you approve it. We cover Jacksonville and St. Johns County inside a 40-mile drive of Fruit Cove. Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm.

Dacor: common questions

Do you still work on older Dacor Epicure and Renaissance units?

Yes, and a good share of our Dacor work is on that generation. Be aware that parts for pre-Samsung equipment are thinner on the ground and can take longer to source, so we confirm availability before we quote a repair.

Is Dacor owned by Samsung?

Yes. Dacor was founded in Pasadena, California and Samsung acquired the company in 2016. Newer Modernist and Contemporary products share Samsung electronics and connectivity, which affects both diagnosis and where parts come from.

My Dacor oven display works but the oven never heats. What is wrong?

That pattern points at the relay board that switches the heating elements, or at the element or its wiring, rather than at the touch panel you are looking at. We meter the element and the switching side before quoting so you are not buying the wrong board.

Are you a Dacor authorized servicer?

No. We are an independent appliance repair company with no affiliation to Dacor or Samsung. We repair the brand and install genuine OEM parts, which is not the same as belonging to a manufacturer service network.

What is the diagnostic fee?

It is $129, flat, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the work. You get a written estimate before anything comes apart, and we will tell you when a unit is not worth repairing.

Customer feedback

Dacor jobs that came in recently

Rated 4.8 out of 5 across 72 customer reviews. Every one of these was a visit to this make of appliance.

Lorna V.Feb 2, 2026

The cooktop knobs were getting too hot to touch and one had melted slightly. He found the burner running rich and the deflector missing under the panel, corrected the air shutter and fitted the part that was absent.

Leopold M.Oct 2, 2025

The control panel was unresponsive. He worked out that the touch board had failed and it took three visits before the correct one arrived and went in. It has been fine since, but I would not call the process smooth.

Alaric F.Mar 16, 2026

The kitchen kept smelling of the previous evening. He found the exterior wall cap flap glued shut with grease and the duct run partly crushed behind a cabinet. He cleaned the cap and reshaped the duct properly.
