What we service

Asko is Scandinavian, and in North Florida it is a low-volume brand — which is exactly why owners struggle to find anyone to service one. Most of what we see is dishwashers and laundry, with the ovens and induction cooktops turning up in kitchens specified in the 2010s.

  • Dishwashers — DBI built-in and DFI fully integrated panel-ready machines, plus the older D5 series still running in plenty of houses.
  • Laundry — the Pro Home washers and dryers, including W and WMC washers and T and TDC dryers, frequently stacked into a narrow closet.
  • Cooking — OP ovens and HI induction cooktops where they were installed.

Asko dishwashers are stainless inside and out, with a multi-stage filter system in the sump that needs periodic cleaning. Most of the neglect cases we see start there.

What actually fails

The signature Asko failure is the door balance system. A spring and cable arrangement inside the cabinet side carries the weight of the door and its custom panel. When the cable or spring breaks, the door stops holding position and drops open. It is a genuine wear item, it is repairable, and it is worth fixing promptly — a heavy panel-ready door swinging free puts load on the hinges and the panel hardware.

After that, the list is water. A drain pump blocked at the check valve leaves standing water in the sump and the customer describes it as “it will not drain.” A leak-protection float in the base tray, once tripped by water, locks the machine into a drain state and it will not run again until the water is out and the leak found. A circulation pump or diverter fault produces the most confusing complaint of all — the machine sounds perfectly normal, runs its whole cycle, and the upper rack is still dirty. That one gets misdiagnosed as “the detergent” for months.

Heating faults show up as cold water, no drying and a cycle that seems to run forever, because the control is waiting for a temperature it will never reach. Door latch micro-switches fail outright and the machine simply will not start.

On laundry, the washer drain pump is where the coins and hair end up. Door interlocks fail. On older high-spin machines, worn shock absorbers and drum bearings announce themselves as noise and walking long before anything catastrophic happens, and catching them early is far cheaper. On condenser dryers, “it takes three cycles to dry a load” is almost always a packed condenser and fine filter rather than a failed component.

Parts and why they matter

Asko parts come through a smaller US channel than the volume brands. Pumps, heaters, filters, hoses and door components are usually available within a few days; boards and cabinet parts for older machines come from Europe and take longer. We give you the real lead time in writing before you commit, because on a low-volume brand the wait is part of the decision.

We install genuine OEM parts. Substituting a generic pump or a non-original door spring on a machine carrying a heavy custom cabinet panel is how a second failure gets built into the first repair.

Independent service and your warranty

We are an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Asko. If your appliance is still inside its factory warranty, use the manufacturer’s own service channel for covered work.

Out of warranty, hiring an independent shop does not void anything. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty solely because an independent company did the work or a part it did not supply was used. That protects you; it does not mean Asko pays us.

Diagnostic is $129 flat, credited toward the repair when you approve it. Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm, covering roughly a 40 mile drive from our base in Fruit Cove.

Asko: common questions

My Asko dishwasher door falls open instead of staying put. Is that serious?

It is the door balance system - a spring or the cable that runs over a pulley in the side of the cabinet. It is a normal wear failure, it is repairable, and it is worth fixing before the hinge and the custom panel take the strain.

Are you authorized by Asko?

No. We are an independent appliance repair company and we are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Asko. We repair Asko appliances and install genuine OEM parts.

Nobody local wants to work on my Asko. Why is that?

Volume. Asko sells in small numbers here, so most shops have never opened one and will not stock parts for it. We service the low-volume European brands deliberately, because the owners of those machines have nowhere else to go.

The dishwasher runs a full cycle but the dishes are still dirty. What is wrong?

When the cycle time and the sounds are normal but nothing is clean, the water is not getting where it should. That usually means the circulation pump, the diverter or a blocked filter and spray arm - and often a heating fault alongside it.

How long do Asko parts take?

Pumps, heaters, filters, hoses and door components are usually available within a few days through the US parts channel. Boards and cabinet parts for older models come from Europe and take longer. You get the lead time in writing before you approve.

What does a service call cost?

$129 flat for the diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. We give you a written estimate before any parts are ordered.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 across 72 customer reviews. Every one of these was a visit to this make of appliance.

Quentin F.Apr 27, 2026

Our washer walked across the laundry floor on every spin. Two of the suspension struts had lost all their damping. He replaced the set, levelled the machine properly on the tile and it now spins without moving at all.

Nadine C.Jul 14, 2026

It had begun leaving a chalky film on everything. He tested the water hardness at the tap, reset the softener setting to match and replaced a leaking rinse aid cap. The difference after a single wash was obvious.

Meredith B.Feb 10, 2026

The washer would fill and then sit there without tumbling. He found the drive belt shredded and a pulley out of alignment, replaced both and checked the drum bearings while the back was off. It runs quietly again.
