Gaggenau is the most demanding brand in a luxury kitchen to diagnose properly. We service the ovens, Vario cooktops, combi-steam, cooling columns and wine cabinets.

Product lines: 400 Series, 200 Series, Vario Cooktops, Vario Cooling, Combi-Steam Ovens, Teppan Yaki, Wine Climate Cabinets.

Model prefixes on the data plate: BO, BS, BM, CM, EB, VI, VG, VP, VK, RC, RB, RF, RW, RY, DF, AW, AC.

## Faults we see on these

- Scale build-up in the combi-steam evaporator and steam generator after skipped descaling cycles
- Water tank sensing and pump faults that stop a steam cycle partway through
- Vario gas cooktop spark module clicking continuously after a boil-over or a wet burner cap
- Vario induction generator board or blocked cooling fan taking out one zone while the rest still work
- Teppan Yaki surface not holding temperature because of a failed surface sensor
- Vario cooling column evaporator fan, defrost heater and door heater failures
- Wine climate cabinet zone drifting off setpoint, usually fan, sensor or door seal
- Oven door hinges and gaskets going out of adjustment on the heavy 400 Series doors
- Dishwasher drain pump and inlet safety hose faults

## What we service

Gaggenau sits at the top of the German market and is owned by BSH, the same group behind Bosch, Siemens and Thermador. That matters practically: parts move through a real channel, and a technician who understands BSH control architecture is not starting from zero on a Gaggenau.

We service:

- **Ovens** — 400 Series and 200 Series wall ovens, including the wide EB built-in ovens, plus BM and CM combi-microwave and speed ovens.
- **Combi-steam** — BS combi-steam ovens, which are the most technically involved appliance in most of these kitchens.
- **Vario cooktops** — VI induction, VG gas, VP Teppan Yaki and VK wok elements, whether installed as a single unit or ganged across a run of countertop.
- **Vario cooling** — RC refrigerator columns, RF freezer columns, RB and RY combination units, and RW wine climate cabinets.
- **Ventilation and dishwashing** — AW and AC hoods and downdrafts, DF dishwashers.

## What actually fails

Combi-steam is where most of the calls come from, and nearly all of them trace to the water path. A steam oven descaled on schedule still accumulates deposit slowly; one descaled on no schedule at all will eventually take out the evaporator. The pattern is familiar: cycles start and abort, the tank reads empty when it is full, the appliance demands descaling and then locks out. The pump, the level sensing and the water path all have to be checked as a system. Clearing the lockout without descaling is not a repair.

On Vario gas, a continuous spark click after a boil-over is normally moisture in a burner cap or switch rather than a failed module — but if it keeps clicking dry, the module goes. On Vario induction, a single dead zone usually means one generator module or a cooling fan choked with dust from an adjacent cabinet, not a dead cooktop.

On Vario cooling, the failures are conventional refrigeration failures in an unconventional cabinet: evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters, door heaters on tall panel-ready columns, and sensor drift. Wine cabinets present as one zone slowly wandering off setpoint while the other holds, which is a fan, sensor or door seal question before it is a compressor question.

Heavy 400 Series oven doors also go out of adjustment. Hinges and gaskets are adjustable, and a door that no longer seals is the reason the oven is slow, not the element.

## Parts and why they matter

Gaggenau appliances are built in tight, modular assemblies. Substituting a generic sensor, a non-OEM gasket or an unbranded pump on a combi-steam oven changes the way the appliance controls itself and, in the steam circuit, changes what happens to the evaporator over the next two years. We install genuine OEM parts and we verify fit against the serial plate, not the model family.

Panel-ready Vario cooling columns need care coming out of the cabinet run. The custom door front, the stone counter above and the finished floor below are all at risk during a pull-out. We protect all three before anything moves.

## Independent service and your warranty

We are an independent company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Gaggenau or BSH. If the appliance is still inside its factory warranty, use the manufacturer's own service channel for covered work — we will say so on the phone.

Out of warranty, hiring an independent shop does not void anything. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void a warranty solely because you used an independent servicer or a part it did not supply. What that does not mean is that Gaggenau pays us; it does not, and we will never suggest otherwise.

Diagnostic is flat, credited toward the repair on approval. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm, covering roughly a 40 mile drive from Fruit Cove.

## Questions people ask

**Are you a Gaggenau authorized service center?**

No. We are an independent appliance repair company with no affiliation to Gaggenau or BSH. We repair Gaggenau appliances and install genuine OEM parts, which is a different thing from factory authorization and we do not blur the two.

**My combi-steam oven has locked itself out and will not run. Can that be reset?**

The lockout can be cleared, but clearing it without descaling is how evaporators get destroyed. We descale properly, check the pump and the water path, and only then release the appliance back into normal service.

**One induction zone is dead and the others work. Is the whole cooktop finished?**

Usually not. Gaggenau induction cooktops use separate generator modules, so a single dead zone is often one module or a blocked cooling fan rather than the whole appliance. We test before quoting a replacement.

**How long do Gaggenau parts take?**

Gaggenau parts come through the BSH channel and most common items arrive within a few business days. Some 400 Series glass, door and control parts are longer lead time, and we give you the quoted date in writing before you commit.

**Do you service Gaggenau refrigeration as well as the cooking line?**

Yes. We service Vario cooling columns, freezer columns and wine climate cabinets. Sealed-system work on these is done in your home by EPA Section 608 certified technicians.

**What is the service call fee?**

A flat diagnostic, credited toward the repair once you approve the work. You get a written estimate first, including any parts lead time, before we order anything.
