- DishDrawer drain pump blocked or failing, leaving standing water in the tub
- Wash motor and rotor position faults on one drawer while the other runs normally
- ActiveSmart refrigeration losing the fresh-food side while the freezer holds
- Evaporator fan motor noise, then frost building and airflow dropping
- CoolDrawer failing to hold a selected mode or drifting off setpoint
- OR-series range surface igniters sparking continuously after a spill
- Oven fan-forced element and convection motor failures
- SmartDrive laundry rotor position sensor, water valve and pump faults

## What we service

Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand brand, now part of Haier, and it is one of the few luxury manufacturers that genuinely spans the whole house. In one kitchen you can find their refrigeration, cooking, ventilation and dishwashing, and in the laundry room their washers and dryers. The current range is organized into Series 11, Series 9 and Series 7, with Minimal, Contemporary and Professional styling applied across them.

We service DishDrawer dishwashers in single and double configurations plus their conventional built-under dishwashers, integrated and freestanding refrigeration, the CoolDrawer multi-temperature drawer, integrated wine cabinets, professional and built-in ranges, wall ovens including combination steam ovens, gas and induction cooktops, ventilation, and SmartDrive laundry.

## What actually fails

The DishDrawer is the product we get called about most, and understanding its architecture explains almost every symptom. A double DishDrawer is not one dishwasher with two doors. It is two complete dishwashers stacked, each with its own wash motor, drain pump, lid, lid seal and control. So one drawer failing while the other works normally is the expected presentation of a fault, not a contradiction.

The lid seal is the wear item. It runs around the top edge of the drawer and it is what keeps water in the tub while the drawer is closed. When it hardens or tears, water escapes down into the base of the cabinet, where the flood-protection switch senses it and locks the machine out. That is why so many DishDrawer calls present as "it stopped mid-cycle and now it does nothing." The correct repair is to dry the base, replace the seal, and verify the drain — not to reset the machine and hand it back.

The other DishDrawer faults worth naming are a blocked or failed drain pump, which leaves standing water in the tub at the end of a cycle, and wash motor or rotor position faults, which give you a drawer that fills and drains but never really washes.

On refrigeration, ActiveSmart units follow the built-in pattern. The condenser loads with dust and the box starts losing ground in summer. Evaporator fan motors get noisy before they stall, and once airflow drops, frost accumulates and the fresh-food compartment climbs while the freezer still looks fine. The CoolDrawer is a different job: it is a single drawer that can run as a freezer, chill, refrigerator, pantry or wine zone, so a complaint of "it will not hold wine temperature" is a control and sensor question more than a compressor question.

On cooking, the OR-series ranges bring the usual gas issues — continuous sparking after a boil-over, which is nearly always a wet or misseated burner cap and electrode rather than a dead spark module — plus fan-forced element and convection motor failures in the oven. SmartDrive laundry faults concentrate on the rotor position sensor, the inlet valves and the drain pump.

## Parts and why they matter

Fisher & Paykel parts are available in the United States, but the brand does not enjoy the shelf depth of a Whirlpool or GE. Some items ship rather than sit locally. We check availability and lead time before we quote, because a part you cannot get for three weeks changes the decision about whether to repair at all.

Lid seals, drain pumps and motors are drawer-specific and model-specific. Control boards are revision-sensitive and we order against the full model and serial from the data plate. We install genuine OEM parts.

## Independent service and your warranty

We are an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Fisher & Paykel or Haier, and we do not bill any manufacturer for warranty labor. Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, the federal credential required to open a sealed refrigeration system, so refrigeration and CoolDrawer work does not stop where a generalist stops.

If your unit is still inside its factory warranty, tell us the model and serial and we will say so plainly — that coverage is delivered through the manufacturer's own network. Once you are past it, using an independent shop does not void your warranty; federal warranty law protects that choice. Diagnostic is flat, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. We cover Jacksonville and St. Johns County inside a 40-mile drive of Fruit Cove. Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-4pm.

## Questions people ask

**One DishDrawer works and the other does not. Is that normal?**

It is expected behavior for a fault, not a mystery. Each drawer in a double DishDrawer is a complete dishwasher with its own motor, drain pump, lid seal and control. A failure in one drawer usually leaves the other running perfectly.

**My DishDrawer stopped mid-cycle and will not restart. What happened?**

Most often the flood-protection switch in the base has tripped because water reached it, usually from a worn lid seal or a drain fault. The unit stays locked out until the base is dried and the source of the water is fixed.

**Where is Fisher & Paykel made and does that affect parts?**

Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand brand, now part of Haier. Parts are available in the US but some items are less commonly stocked than mainstream brands, so we confirm lead time before quoting rather than after.

**Do you service Fisher & Paykel laundry as well as kitchen appliances?**

Yes. The SmartDrive direct-drive washers and the matching dryers are part of what we cover. Luxury laundry is often the hardest thing to get serviced properly, and it is a category we deliberately keep on the list.

**Are you authorized by Fisher & Paykel?**

No. We are an independent appliance repair company with no affiliation to Fisher & Paykel or Haier. We repair the brand and install genuine OEM parts, which is a different thing from belonging to a manufacturer network.
